Purpose

To work with the Council’s officers for the improvement and development of allotments, gardens, open spaces, street furniture and other public spaces in the Town Council area. The Environment Working Group oversees the Council’s cemeteries and burials services and will consider any specific appeals in relation to the Council’s Cemetery Regulations.

The Environment Working Group also considers biodiversity and climate change matters and proposals from its Task Groups and Advisory Groups for recommendation to Council.

Any requests for items on the agenda should be sent to the Town Clerk and contact officer listed who will discuss with the Lead Member of the Working Group and agree what if any briefing papers or reports should be circulated to councillors and in what timescale.
